He had become a priest and been arrested by Delhi Police, according to an official.The official stated that senior officers from the Delhi Police issued directions to locate Proclaimed Offenders in the region.
A police unit was formed to collect information about all POs.According to SHO Jaffarpurkalan Girish Kumar Singh, “Previous records had been checked and informers were made aware of the situation.
A specific tip-off was received Wednesday regarding Ajit, the PO.A police team acted on the tip-off and set trap to capture the accused, 45, at his Dabar Enclave.
Ajit was charged and declared a proclaimed offenders by a local court.He was also subject to an FIR under section 33 Delhi Excise Act.
According to police, the suspect studied at class 7 in his village before moving to Delhi to become a bus conductor.He was also a drunken and registered 2 FIRs in Delhi under the Delhi excise Act 2017-2018.
He has now become a priest and roams around the city, staying in various temples throughout Delhi-NCR.The police stated that he did not appear in court on the given date and was therefore declared PO.
According to the police, legal proceedings against the accused will also be launched.
