Low pressure continues in the west-central and northwestern Bay of Bengal.The meteorological department said that the low-pressure area, which will weaken in the next 36 hours, is likely to move west-northwest and reach Uttar Pradesh.
Thundershowers are expected in several places in Hyderabad, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Khairatabad, Himayat Nagar and Nampally.Illantakunta and Tangallapalli zones in Rajanna Sircilla district, Gundala and Motkur zones in Yadadri district will receive heavy rainfall.
There is a possibility of rain in the Tadur and Timmajipeta zones of Nagar Kurnool district.Hence, the authorities issued a yellow alert across Hyderabad.
In addition to the low pressure, the surface period extends up to 5.8 km above sea level.Light to moderate rains is likely in several districts of Telangana today.
Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Peddapally, Manchiryala, Komrambhim Asifabad, Adilabad, and Jagityala districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall, the Meteorological Office said.
Moderate to heavy rains are expected in the respective districts of the state due to low pressure.
Taryani in Kumrambhim district received 6.5 cm of rainfall, Ginnedhari received 5.3 cm, Lingapur received 3.3 cm, Nallabelli received 3 cm in Warangal district, Nagaram in Suryapeta district received 5 cm of rainfall.
