The Hyderabad meteorological department has forecast rains in Telangana for two consecutive days due to the surface periodicity and the impact of the Gulab cyclone in the Bay of Bengal.It has issued warnings of moderate to heavy rains in many places of Telangana.
Also, it forecast heavy rains in parts of Telangana.Against this backdrop, a red alert was issued to Telangana.
Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityala, Rajanna Sircilla, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Kamareddy districts of the state are likey to receive heavy rains on Monday and Tuesday.
Similarly, Adilabad, Manchiryala, Kumrumbhim, Asifabad, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Hanmakonda, Janagama, Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad and Medchal districts will receive moderate to heavy rains.
The meteorological department officials have warned of heavy rains for two days, even in the GHMC range.The zonal commissioners were instructed to be vigilant.
However, Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar asked the people in the low-lying areas to be vigilant to prevent loss of life or property.Also, he directed the officials to seek NDRF services if required.
He suggested that special officers should be appointed in each zone to prevent any loss of life and property and to take flood damage prevention measures with the help of locals.
