Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad with top-class performance.
Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have recorded a commendable 20 run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai on Tuesday and kept their hopes to stay in the playoffs.
After putting a fighting target of 168 runs on the board, CSK restricted Sunrisers to 147 for 8 in 20 overs.Sam Curran impressed with his all-round performance (31 of 21 balls, 1/18 in 3 overs) while Ravindra Jadeja (25 of 10 balls, 1/21 in 3 overs) grabbed man of the match.
However, CSK remains at the sixth spot on the points table under Sunrisers Hyderabad.
CSK didn’t get a good start and lost the wicket of Faf du Plessis early in the 3rd over.
However, Sam Curran, Shane Watson 42 (38) and Ambati Rayudu 41 (34) batted well to set a power-hitting context for MS Dhoni 21 (13) and Ravindra Jadeja.The latter both have kept the faith and scored some quick runs which helped CSK near the 170-run mark.
SRH was never in the chase as they lost the captain David Warner 9 (13), Manish Pandey 4 (3) and Bairstow 23 (24) early in the innings.Kane Williamson 57 (39) played a lone hand, but SRH kept losing wickets at regular intervals before they end up at 147 for 8 in 20 overs.
