49 million metric tonnes of paddy (LMT), had been purchased up to SundayAccording to a Ministry statement, Paddy was procured from Telangana, Telangana, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan in KMS 2021-22.It said that 47.03 million farmers had benefited from MSP values of Rs 86.924.46 crore to date.The Punjabi farmers who received Rs 36,623.64 crore as MSP valued, were able to procure 186 LMT.This was followed by Haryana where 55 LMT was obtained from 3,10,083 Punjabi farmers for Rs 10,839.97 crore.Telangana (52) LMT (7,84,368 farmers, Rs 10,364.88 cr) and Chhatisgarh (47) LMT (12,46,022 farmer and Rs 9,251.24crore).In passing, the topic of paddy procurement has been a hotly debated issue in Telangana recently.
