Yes, Anushka has been roped in to enact the role of Bhagmati – Hindu wife of Hyderabad sultan Quli Qutub Shah.For those who are unaware about Bhagmati, she is the Hindu wife of Muslim sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah.
Qutb Shah was the fifth sultan of the erstwhile Qutb Shahi Dynasty who ruled over the Golkonda region of South India in the 16th century.It is said that Hyderabad’s original name Bhagyanagar was named after Bhagmati.
Muhammed Quli Qutub Shah married Bhagamati in the year 1589 CE and remained with her until his death in 1611 CE.Quli Qutb Shah built a city named Bhaganagar in 1591 CE, to honor his love for Bhagmati.She died in 1611 CE.
This film will be directed by Ashok, who was popular for his film Pilla Jamindar.Vamsi-Pramod will be producing this venture.Last year this duo produced the film Mirchi with Prabhas and Anushka in the lead.
Presently Anushka is busy shooting for Rudramma Devi.The shoot of this film will be complete by March.More details of the project yet to be finalized.
