Analysis:

Aaha Kalyanam is no where nearer to its original Band Baja Bharat. The main strength in BBB is the chemistry between lead pair of the movie.

But unfortunately that was completely missed in Aaha Kalyanam.Somehow Nani tried to match himself with Ranveer singh but the female lead of the movie Vanee Kapoor failed to reach Anushka Shrama Already the storyline was hijacked by Nandini reddy for Jabardasth move and the First half of Aaha Kalyanam is almost identical to that of Jabardast for Telugu audience.

Though first half of was failed to generate curiosity it is at least watchable for some funny scenes but the second half was very poor .The film runs like a dull drama with a single line story, predicted twists and more predicted endings .Though climax was somewhat contrast to BBB you doesn’t feel the impact as it was already done enough damage for the viewers heart. As it was bilingual flick The film smelled with many tamil flavors .Entire culture, artists and set up is nothing like that of Telugu films.Dialogs are good and funny indeed but hilarious at various instances enhanced by Nani’s timing.Aaha Kalyanam started off well and fizzles too quickly and ends up as an average fare.

Artists Performance:

Nani seems to be enjoyed his character as happy-go-lucky guy .he showed his ease in the acting but unfortunately it was not elevated due to poor writing and execution.Though he has a bright comic timing than Ranveer Singh (in the original Band Baaja Baarat), it sometimes reminded us of the routine ‘Nani’ than his character ‘Shakti’.

Heroine Vani Kapoor has a towering personality and tries her best to infuse life into the proceedings. She is good in the first half and was average in the second half.

Simran’s cameo as ‘Chandralekha’ has nothing special to offer but she just served her purpose and left.None among the rest of the cast have made their presence felt

Technical Aspects:-

Aha Kalyanam is high on technical values and yash raj films succeeded in showing their mark for south audience, As said earlier, all the weddings have been showcased colorfully. The art department has done a wonderful job in making this film look rich.Dharam Kumar’s music was serving his director’s need but his background score failed to brought life to this wedding love story Director A Gokul Krishna seems to have simply done a cut-copy-paste job of the original.

His direction is mediocre and he completely neglected screenplay .He remade story of BBB but not its soul.

Highlights:

• Nani Comic timing • Production values • Wedding scenes • Photography

Drawbacks:

• Lack of entertainment • Flavor of A typical Tamil film • Second half of the film lacks emotional depth • No telugu supporting artists

Verdict:

Aaha Kalyanam is a good one time watch for those who didn’t watched Band Baaja Baarat and Jabardasth. The film works partially only because of Nani’s star status and talent. The films has less chances to survive at BO.
