The controversy triggered by actor Kangana Ranauts tweet on Mumbai, drawing a parallel between the city and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), escalated further on Friday taking a political turn.

The BJP, the NCP, the Congress, and the Shiv Sena slammed the actor for drawing such comparison, which they said was unbecoming and disrespectful of the Maratha people.

" Meanwhile, the National Commission of Women (NCW) has taken a suo motu cognisance of Kangana Ranauts claims of receiving threats and demanded immediate arrest of a Shiv Sena MLA.
