Stop hydropower generation at Srisailam project: AP govt writes to KRMB

The Krishna River water dispute is continuing in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The representatives of both the states are blaming each other for this.

Also, large scale debates are going on in both states.The Andhra Pradesh state government has penned several times to the KRMB on the Telangana governments stance.

However, recently, the Andhra Pradesh state government has complained to the KRMB against the Telangana government about a Telangana hydropower generation in the Srisailam project.AP ENC Narayana Reddy wrote a letter to the KRMB.

In the letter, he suggested the KRMB ask the Telangana state government to halt the power generation of the Srisailam project.Also, Narayana Reddy recalled that the hydropower generations should be occurred only after meeting the water demands of both states on joint projects.

In the letter, he mentioned that stated that the Telangana argument was violating the Bifurcation Act rules.TS Genco is producing hydropower against the rules.

AP ENC Narayana Reddy asked KRMB to stop power generation immediately.In the past, the Andhra Pradesh state government has already filed a petition in the Supreme Court against Telanganas stance on the Krishna River waters.

It was said in the petition that the KCR government was acting unconstitutionally.
