SC collegium recommends Saurabh Kulpal as Delhi HC Judge

V.Ramana, has recommended the appointment of senior advocate Saurabh Kirpal as a judge of the Delhi High Court.

New Delhi, Nov 15, : The Supreme Court Collegium headed by Chief Justice N.V.Ramana has recommended that Saurabh Kirpal, a senior advocate, be appointed as a judge at the Delhi High CourtA statement on top courts website said: "The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 11th November, 2021 has approved the proposal for elevation of Saurabh Kirpal, Advocate, as Judge in the Delhi High Court".According to a statement posted on the website of the Supreme Court Collegium, the Supreme Court Collegium approved the proposal to elevate Saurabh Kirpal, Advocate as Judge at the Delhi High Court.

The Supreme Court collegium had thrice deferred Kirpals elevation in the past.Kirpals elevation had been deferred by the Supreme Court collegium three times.He was recently conferred senior advocate gown.

Recently, he was awarded the senior advocate gown.In an interview last year, Kirpal, who is a gay, had claimed that he believes his sexual orientation is probably the reason the collegium had not taken a decision on his elevation.

Kirpal, a homosexual, stated in an interview last year that he believed his sexual orientation was the main reason why the collegium hadnt made a decision about his elevation.In another statement, the top court said: "The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 11th November, 2021 has, on reconsideration, resolved to reiterate its earlier recommendation for elevation of following four advocates as Judges in Delhi High Court: 1.The top court also stated: "The Supreme Court Collegium at its meeting held 11th November 2021 has, upon reconsideration, decided to reiterate its earlier recommendation of elevation of the following four advocates as judges in Delhi High Court: Tara Vitasta Ganju, 2.Anish Dayal, 3.Anish Dayal 3.Amit Sharma, and 4.Amit Sharma and 4.Mini Pushkarna.The top court collegium also approved an advocate, K.Manmadha Rao, and a judicial officer, B.S.A top court collegium also approved K.Manmadha Rao as an advocate and B.S.as a judicial officer.Banumathi, as judges in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Banumathi and Banumathi are now judges at the Andhra Pradesh High Court.In another statement, the top court said: "The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 11th November, 2021 has, on reconsideration, resolved to reiterate its earlier recommendation for elevation of Sachin Singh Rajput, advocate, as judge in Chhattisgarh High Court".The top court also stated that the Supreme Court Collegium, at its meeting on 11th November 2021, had, upon reconsideration, decided to reaffirm its earlier recommendation of Sachin Singh Rajput as advocate for the position of judge in Chhattisgarhs High Court.
