Russia-Ukraine Crisis: We will get students back safely!

Secretary General of the Government Dr.Samir Sharma clarified that in the wake of the crisis in Ukraine, the government is taking all necessary steps to bring back to the state safely all the students and Telugus who were trapped there.

On Friday, he spoke at a press conference with Special Officer Gitesh Sharma (International Cooperation) at the Secretariat.

He described the steps being taken by the state government to bring to safety all those trapped in Ukraine.He said a task force committee with various officials at the state level had been set up to bring those trapped in Ukraine to India.

Sharma said a helpline number 1902 toll free dedicated number was set up to help students and other Telugus stranded in Ukraine.It is said to work 24 hours a day.He said the government would take steps to ensure the safe repatriation of those trapped in Ukraine by phoning the number.We have also set up a helpline on 0863–2340678 and a WhatsApp group on + 91–8500027678.

He said district level control rooms have been set up under the auspices of district level collectors.Tahsildars will collect their details within their zones and coordinate with the district and state level control room.

Chief Minister YS Jagan is taking a special initiative to repatriate Telugus stranded in Ukraine, said state government special officer (International Cooperation) Gitesh Sharma.He said he had already written a letter to the Union Foreign Minister and also spoken on the phone.
