Noida 6 August : A hunt is underway to capture self-proclaimed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shrikant Tyagi, who has been accused of insulting womens modesty in an argument regarding the planting of palm trees in his apartment at a community here.

Tyagis social media profiles however they tell a different story.On his Twitter account, Tyagi presents himself as an ardent party leader, with photos with various of senior saffron party members.

He also posted several edited photos with the BJPs logo.Tyagi however, he blocked his Twitter account after a few hours of the incident "We have taken possession of three vehicles -three - three cars -- one Toyota Fortuner, one Tata Safari and one Honda Civic -- that belong to Tyagi," a Noida Police official told IANS.

To find his whereabouts, police have arrested four people including Tyagis spouse "We have formed four teams who are trying to track down the suspect.We also have taken his wife into custody to conduct a search," the official said.

In addition to Tyagis wife, the police have arrested his brother, manager and driver."All of them are currently being interrogated," informed the official.

The story was brought to light, when video clips of the incident were shared on social media in which Tyagi was seen hurling insults at the victim.Social users also posted the reaction of the victim in which she described the whole incident "I reside in Grand Omaxe.

A man by the name of Shrikant Tyagi, residing on the ground floor, was encroaching on the community by planting large and small trees in the common space.If I asked him to take them down the plants, he refused.

When I tried to get them out, he hurled abuses at me as well as my husband and our children," the woman said.In the video, residents of the society can be accused by Tyagi of taking over the land by establishing large and small plants.

According to one of the videos of the incident, as seen through IANS, Tyagi could also be seen pushing and threaten the woman."Dont you ever to touch my plants, or Ill be watching you .," he could be heard saying.Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ankita Sharma, told the media that shortly after the video became all over social media, Noida Police registered an FIR under Section 354 (Assault or use of force against a woman with intent to offend her modesty) of the IPC at the Panchsheel police station.

The officer informed the suspect would be detained and that legal action would be taken against him.In the meantime the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Saturday, took note of the incident and sent a letter to Uttar Pradesh DGP in this issue.NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma has asked police to provide the needed security to the victim.uj/ar.
