Ponting approached me to be the Team India coach.

New Delhi, November 18 : Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting revealed that he was offered the position of Team India coach but declined because he gave the job so much time.

Ponting stated on the Grade Cricketers Podcast, that he spoke with several people during the IPL about the matter.

"The people I talked to wanted to figure out a way, and the first thing that I did was say, "I cannot give this much time." Ponting, who is the current head coach for Delhi Capitals, stated that this means that he cant coach the IPL.Ponting was surprised to learn that Rahul Dravid became the Head Coach of Team India.Dravid took this job.Although I dont know much about Dravids family, I am sure that he has children.Ponting stated that while I was surprised that he accepted it, his contacts were certain they had the right person and were able to convince Dravid.
