Bollywood Actress Ameesha Patel Surrenders in Cheque Bounce Case

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel turned herself in at the Ranchi Civil Court on Saturday following allegations of cheating film producer-businessman Ajay Kumar Singh in a case involving a bounced check of Rs 3 crore.According to a report by ANI, Ajay claimed that Ameesha borrowed Rs 2.

5 crore from him, promising to produce a film called Desi Magic.However, she failed to complete the project or return the money.

Ameeshas business partner, Krunal Goomer, was also implicated in the case.The accusations against Ameesha Patel date back to 2018 when she visited Ranchi to attend an event.During her visit, Ameesha Patel met Ajay Kumar Singh and convinced him to provide Rs 2.5 crore for her film, Desi Magic.However, according to Ajays complaint, neither Ameesha nor Krunal completed the films production.

Despite promising to repay the borrowed amount along with an additional interest of Rs 50 lakh, they failed to do so.In October 2018, Ameesha gave Ajay two checks—one for Rs 2.5 crore and another for Rs 50 lakh.Unfortunately, both checks bounced, leading Ajay to take legal action.

Ajay Kumar Singh accused the Bollywood actress of cheating and money laundering, prompting him to bring the matter to court.As a result, a warrant was issued against Ameesha on April 6.Ameesha Patel surrendered at the Ranchi Civil Court on Saturday regarding the bounced check case.Subsequently, she was granted conditional bail and has been instructed to appear in person before the court on June 21.
