KMC elections may see Babul Supriyo as Trinamool’s candidate for Mayor

There are strong indications that Babul Supriyo (a former Union Minister) might be the candidate for Mayor and face of the Trinamool Congress in the forthcoming election to the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, (KMC), scheduled for December 19Though there has been no official confirmation on this yet, according to party insiders, Supriyo is the most favourite among the candidates for the post because he is preferred by Trinamools all-India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who is the main decision maker in the party at present.

Although there is no confirmation, party insiders claim that Supriyo is currently the most preferred candidate for the position.This is because Abhishek Banerjee (Trinamools all India General Secretary) prefers him over Supriyo, the current decision-maker in the party.

There are several other indications that make Supriyo the frontrunner in the race.Many other indicators point to Supriyo as the top-ranked candidate in this race.
