Ameesha Patel is making headlines once again due to controversial statements she made during interviews while promoting her upcoming film, Gadar 2.

In her latest interview, the actress expressed her opposition to homosexuality and criticized the content available on streaming platforms.

During a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha Patel stated that todays children cannot watch shows and movies on streaming platforms because they depict "homosexuality, gay-lesbianism." She emphasized that Gadar 2 is a tribute to a bygone era of clean entertainment on screen, focusing on emotions and values that she believes are lacking in current OTT (over-the-top) content.

The popular actors homophobic remarks sparked controversy, as she claimed that people are yearning for good, wholesome cinema that can be enjoyed by multiple generations.She argued that OTT platforms fail to provide this kind of content, mentioning scenes depicting homosexuality and gay-lesbian relationships that necessitate shielding childrens eyes or restricting their access to such platforms.

Ameesha Patel continued to praise her film, referring to it as a response to the shortcomings of contemporary cinema.She highlighted the presence of heart-wrenching emotions, music, dialogues, and action in Gadar 2, embodying the escapist entertainment Bollywood is renowned for creating.

Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 is scheduled to be released on August 11, coinciding with Indias Independence Day.
