Kirsten wishes Sir Cook was onboard if England’s coach is offered to him

Former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten said it was a privilege to be an England coach.

He also stated that Sir Alastair Cook would help "rejuvenate England"s Test side if given the chanceAfter speculations over the future of Chris Silverwood, Englands current coach, the former opener made the comments.This comes after England lost the Ashes in 12 days.

Silverwoods leadership has also led to nine defeats for England in 2021.Cook, 37 years old, is considered one of Englands most brilliant cricketers.

He has played 161 Tests as well as scored more than 12,400 runs.Kirsten, the coach who led both South Africa and India to the top Test rankings, stated on Friday that he will not waste any time approaching the "best minds" of English Test cricket for the task he had been overlooked earlier.
