Triumphant Moment: Air Force veterans are welcomed to the ‘Flame of Victory” in Delhi (Lead).

One of four Swarnim Vijay Mashals, or the "Flame of Victory", which was set out on a national journey starting at the National War Memorial, on December 16, 2020, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached its final destination on Monday, Air Force Station HindonAir Marshal Amit Dev (Air Officer Commanding in Chief Western Air Command) received the Mashal and several other officers from Indian Air Force.

ACM S.K., War Heroes of 1971 ACM S.P.awarded a Mahavir Chakra to Kaul.Tyagi, who served in 28 Squadron, during World War II, Air Marshal Manjit S.Sekhon, who received a Vir Chakra.Kamlesh Jain was the spouse of Wg.Cdr M.K.Jain, who received a Vir Chakra posthumously, Manisha Arora Kapoor (daughter of Sqn Ldr G.K.Arora, who also got a Shaurya Chakra) and Vikram Wahi (brother of Flt Lt V.K.).Wahi, who was posthumously given a Vir Chakra in recognition of his actions during the war, attended the event.Speaking on the occasion, ACM Kaul and Air Marshal Sekhon recounted their personal experiences and the immense contribution made by the Indian Air Force during the war which was instrumental in ensuring that the war was swift and decisive.

All the veterans lauded them for setting the highest military standards for future generations to imbibe.The Vijay Mashal will now travel to the National War Memorial where the flames will be merged with the Eternal Flame at the National War Memorial.
