Param Bir Singh-Sachin vaze’meet’ Congress cries foul and seeks probe

Mumbai, Nov 29, : On Monday, the Maharashtra Congress flagged a purported meeting between Param Bir Singh, former Mumbai Police Commissioner, and his former junior.

Sachin Vaze was fired by police on Monday.

They called it a "conspiracy" and demanded a high-ranking probeAccording to the partys sources, the two men - who are accused in multiple cases by various state and central agencies – had a meeting this afternoon just before they appeared before Justice K.U.The Maharashtra government has established the Chandiwal Commission of Enquiry.Atul Londhe, spokesperson for the state Congress, stated that the Singh-Vaze meeting violated rules which clearly state that any two defendants going for any probe cannot be allowed "to meet" in this manner "Why did they meet? Who was responsible for this meeting? He asked what they discussed, as they were both being accused in multiple cases by different agencies.Individually, Singh and Vaze are being investigated by different agencies, such as the NIA and the CBI.They are investigating various cases relating to extortion and corruption, conspiracy, murder and terror.Singh, who was declared a Proclaimed Offender by Mumbai courts, had bailable or non-bailable warrants for arrest (since withdrawn from Mumbai and Thane court), while Vaze and other defendants are facing murder, terror, and conspiracy charges in relation to the SUV planting at the home of industrialist Mukesh ambani and the subsequent killing of its owner Mansukh hiran in February-March of this year.

Londhe demanded that Dilip Walse, the state Home Minister, conduct a thorough investigation into the "meeting".He wanted to find out if any high-ranking officials or politicians had conspired with him to arrange the meeting in order to derail ongoing sensitive probes by the relevant agencies.

Singh was "untraceable", for the past six months, but he resurfaced in Mumbai last week.He has since joined the probe into various police cases against him, and also attended Justice Chandiwals hearing on Monday.
