Bihar: State-level football player in drunken condition

A Patna official stated Monday that a state-level football player was arrested by police in a drunken stateShantanu Kumar, a representative of Bihar in various state level football competitions was arrested from Patna bypass Road.

Manoranjan Bharti (the SHO of Patrakaar Nagar Police Station) stated that a team from our station was on patrol along the bypass road.A person was unable to walk properly and was noticed by the officers in the patrolling van.He tried to flee the scene when cops approached him.After a short chase, he was finally captured." "We have done a breath test on Shantanu and it confirmed that he was intoxicated.

He was also sent to Nalanda Medical College & Hospital for a medical examination.He was found positive," Bharti stated.

Shantanu is booked in Patrakar Nagar police station under the relevant section of Liquor Prohibition Act and taken to jail after presenting before Duty Magistrate.Shantanu hails from Samastipur district.

From 2008 to 2017, he was associated with Azad football school.He was a participant in the 2013 Bihar state junior-level football tournament, which was held in Moin-ul-Haq stadium Patna.His team lost the final.
