Corrupt complaint against top EU privacy watchdog

London, November 23rd : .

A European privacy group, noyb, filed Tuesday a criminal complaint against the Data Protection Commission of Ireland (DPC) which is Facebook’s leading regulator in Europe for data protectionNoyb stated that the Irish DPC had asked it to sign an "interim non-disclosure agreement" and remove the non-profit organization from Facebook.

The group released a statement saying that the DPC wouldnt listen to the complainant if there was no NDA.The DPC used procedural blackmail to get us silenced. The DPC could only grant us our legal right of being heard if we would shut down.

The Austrian Office for the Prosecution of Corruption has been informed.Max Schrems, noyb chair said that this regulator is asking for a "quid proquo" to perform its duties.

To the benefit of Facebook and the DPC, the condition for the right to hear was that we sign an agreement. He said that it is nothing more than an authority asking for the surrender of freedom speech in return for procedural rights.

According to the not-for profit group, Facebook will benefit especially from the NDA.New documents suggest that EU regulators could find Facebooks "GDPR bypass illegal" -- potentially declaring Facebook’s personal data use since 2018 illegal. This would have major consequences for Facebook’s European business model.

To protest the current situation, and show that noyb is free to talk about documents within the legal parameters, noyb will conduct "advent readings” of various Facebook documents and DPC documents.Noyb will release a new document each Sunday during Advent.

This video, along with an explanation of the documents, and a detailed analysis on why they are compliant with applicable laws, will be available.Schrems stated that they hope Facebook and the DPC file legal proceedings against them to clarify that freedom-of-expression prevails over scare tactics by a multinational corporation or its taxpayer-funded minon.

The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC), was still not responding to the complaints.na/pgh #Corrupt #complaint #privacy #watchdog.
