Leader of N.Korean calls for self-reliance to be boosted

Seoul, November 19, : North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called for the strengthening of self-reliance in spite of "immediate difficulties", which include economic problems, Pyongyang state media reported Friday.

Kim outlined methods for implementing the development in the letter and rebuked those who dont make the best effort to support the movement.Yonhap News Agency quotes the KCNA saying that Kim was "intimidated" by the immediate difficulties, including economic problems.

Kim stated that "the tasks laid out by our party were vast and the challenges are mounting up.But we cant wait until all circumstances have been met." We must not be discouraged in our efforts to move along the development pathway with our only strength.These remarks were made as North Korea called for economic development in a five-year plan.

The plan was unveiled in January at North Koreas eighth party congress.Kim acknowledged that he had failed to implement his prior development plan due to crippling sanctions and the prolonged closure of its border because Covid-19.

The KCNA stated that a second day session would be held at the Conference, but it is not clear how much time it will continue.After the November 2015 fourth conference, this is the second such event under the leadership of the present leader.
