NTR’s bad record continues

Boxoffice terminology is completely different from what you see on movie posters.

Producers brag about their ventures for publicity by adding those fabricated "Blockbuster", "All time blockbuster" tags.

To say, a films boxoffice status is termed by calculating the recovery percentage. There is something called breakeven point and return on investment.

Not by the total collection, boxoffice verdict is given on recovery percentage. For example, Fidaa is a blockbuster but Khaidi No 150 is a Super hit but not blockbuster.

You may wonder how since Khaidi No 150 collected double over Fidaa. The Chiranjeevi starrers theatrical rights were sold at 90cr and Fidaa was sold at 20cr.

While Fidaa collected 47cr share in its full run and Khaidi No 150 collected 102 cr, the recovery percentage of Fidaa is much bigger than what Khaidis. Its been a long time since NTR scored a blockbuster.

Its also been a very long time NTRs movie has reached the breakeven point in all trade territories.Nothing rude on the actor but Simhadri was his last film which brought profits to all distributors.

Since then, the actor received positive talk for few films in his career like Yamadonga, Brindavanam, Baadshah, Temper, Nannaku Prematho, Janatha Garage and also Jai Lava Kusa. But each of these films proved out to be a loss venture in a single territory at least.

Yamadonga was loss venture in Nizam and Brindavanam didnt earn any profits in overseas. While Baadshah turned out to be a loss venture for the producer, it happened with distributors for Temper.
