Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav concluded the dates after a meeting with Yadava community.
The festival is going to start with a Drishti pooja on February 14.The real celebrations begin with the arrival of Devarapette (divine box) to the temple from Kesaram village on February 28.Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav and Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy disclosed the dates after holding a meeting with the elders of the Yadava community and the temple priests.In Telangana, Peddagattu Jathra is the second biggest annual celebration after Sammakka Sarakka Jathra.
Reportedly, according to the traditional practices, Bonams will be offered to Goddess Chowdamma by devotees on March 1, and Chandrapatam will be held on March 2.The Jathara comes to pre-climax when the divine box will be taken back to Kesaram village on March 3.The celebrations end on March 4 with Makara Thoranam.The Lingamanthula Swamy temple is located at Durajpally, which is six kilometres from Suryapet town.
The local governance is making every effort to make it memorable for devotees.
