Jewellery brand Tanishq released a statement explaining the withdrawal of Hindu-Muslim ad.After #BoycottTanishq trended on social media, Jewellery brand Tanishq removed its Hindu-Muslim ad from YouTube and released a statement explaining the reason on the ongoing controversy.

Sharing the note on the official social media Tanishq quoted, “The idea behind the Ekatvam campaign is to celebrate the coming together of people from different walks of life, local communities and families during these challenging times and celebrate the beauty of oneness.

This film has stimulated divergent and severe reactions, contrary to its very objective.We are deeply saddened with the inadvertent stirring of emotions and withdraw this film keeping in mind the hurt sentiments and well-being of our employees, partners and store staff.

" Whatever may be the Jewellery brand thought, it has ignited more controversy on social media.The last lines from the statement “well-being of our employees, partners and store staff” has not gone well with several people.
