The opposition leader has written an open letter to AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy regarding a Music University in Nellore.
In the letter, the TDP National leader has re-iterated the need for preserving the legendary singer’s memory on setting up a Sangeeta Kala Kshetra.He also suggested installing a bronze statue of SPB in the Music University to encourage music and fine arts in the coming generations.
Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has also asked the CM to initiate an annual celebration on SPB’s birthday.Further, a national award should be named on SP Balasubrahmanyam with Rs.10 lakh prize money which should be presented to the recipient every year.SP Balasubrahmanyam hails from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh.
His father SP Sambamurthy was also a renowned musician and a Harikatha artist in Nellore.The 74-year-old legendary singer, who sang over 40,000 songs, has passed away on September 25, 2020, owing to Covid-19.
