Harare 19th August : Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) on Friday announced central contracts for 19 women players for the 2022-23 cricket season.Zimbabwe captain Mary-Anne Musonda, her deputy Josephine Nkomo, as well as Chipo Mugeri Tiripano, were selected in the Grade A+ category.
Grade A includes Precious Marange Modester Mupachikwa as well as Sharne Mayers as well as Nomvelo Sibanda as well as Loreen Tshuma were awarded Grade B contracts.
The total of 11 players were selected in the Grade C category.
“As as part of our dedication to the development and growth of our women’s sport, we are thrilled to announce that we have awarded of central contracts to an impressive group of 19 players,” Hamilton Masakadza, ZC Director of Cricket said.
“We believe that this will not only increase the spirits of our players but allow them to focus on their games ahead of an important period for the national team that includes participation in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022 scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates in September,” he added.
