The entire state police are trying to clamp down on any chicken fights that are common to take place during this festive season. But surprisingly, the ruling party MP, YSRCP MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju himself inaugurated Chicken fight celebrating the festive season in front of his house, in Bheemavaram. He also invited the media house to cover the news item.
Speaking on the occasion, ‘During Sankranthi festive seasons Chicken Fights are common. They are a part of our culture and heritage. But I’m against betting, and tying knives to the chickens.
I don’t encourage such kind of acts. I heartily wish all the people of the state a very happy Sankranthi. May everyone is blessed with health and wealth’, he said.
Despite the police warnings, many people continued to place bets in lakhs as a part of the Chicken fights that involve tying of knives. Even other legally banned games like ‘Gundata’ is also seen across the state, especially in the Godavari villages.
