YSRTP Chief YS Sharmila is all set to start a walkathon titled ‘Praja Prasthanam’ from Chevella.The late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, made a walkathon across the state from here in 2003 and returned to power in 2004.
Following this, YS Sharmila has done a walkathon of 3,112 km in 116 constituencies for 230 days in 2012 for the sake of YS Jaganmohan Reddy.Aiming at the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, she has recently embarked on a walkathon once again.
As part of the walkathon, which will start from Chevelle on Wednesday, she will walk 4,000 km and end up the walkathon in Chevelle again.Sharmila announced this walkathon at the party’s inaugural meeting on July 8, 2021.
For the first ten days, the walkathon will be held in Bhuvanagiri Parliamentary constituencies.
On the first day of the Praja Prasthanam Padayatra, a public meeting will be held near the KGR Garden on Vikarabad Road.The Sharmila Padayatra will begin at 11.30 am after addressing a public meeting at 11 am.
YS Vijayamma will launch the program.The walkathon starts from Chevella and Sharmila reaches the Kandavada-Nakkalapally suburb on the evening of the first day.She stays there overnight.Party leaders say they are scheduled to walk 12 kilometres a day.
