Now, a PIL has been filed against Neelam Sawhney in the High court by Dr Maddipati Sailaja from the Guntur district.

In the PIL, Dr Sailaja stated that the SEC has held the ZPTC and MPTC polls contrary to the Supreme Court orders, resulting in a wastage of Rs 160 crores.

The petition alleges that she wasted public money of Rs 160 crore under the name of Parishad polls. As the public money was wasted with these polls, she asked the High court to direct the bank to submit a surety for Rs 160 crore.

Dr Maddipati Sailaja accused Neelam Sawhney that she has contempt the Supreme Court orders to impose an election code four weeks before the polling date. Therefore, considering all these factors, Sailaja requested in her PIL that Sawhney’s continuation as SEC should be declared illegal and unconstitutional.

A bench of Chief Justice of the High Court Justice AK Goswami and Justice N Jayasuriya will hear the case on June 20.
