In the world where money replaced humanity, Meeralakshmi hailing from Bangalore has proved that humanity is still existing. The elderly lady’s decision to turn her property to ‘Children’s Health Center’ is being hailed across all communication platforms.
Her late husband, R Srinivas Naidu constructed ‘Lakshmi Hotel’ in Gandhi Nagar, Yeshwanthpur (Bangalore). The ‘Lakshmi Hotel’, a 3-storey building with 32 rooms, has hosted top Kannada actors in the past.
The area is one of the most bustling locations in Bangalore with IT offices, and MNC companies occupying the skyline. With one square foot of land running into lakhs of rupees, the hotel’s land itself is worth Rs 300 crores according to market estimates.
With Meeralakshmi’s decision, the property would be turned into a health center for children suffering from cancer.‘I see a lot of people coming from rural areas for cancer treatment in Bangalore.
They are forced to say for weeks, and months at times.I think the health center would help them. They can stay here for free of cost.We provide them shelter and food’, said Meeralakshmi who donated the property to Shankar Hospital, Bangalore.
