Bengaluru 3rd September : A case of Karnataka BJP MLA, Arvind Limbavali warning a female active in public with the threat that he will have her thrown into a prison was revealed in Bengaluru on Saturday.The remarks made by MLA Limbavali have caused public outrage and been slammed by the public.
Ruth Sagay Mary, who is also employed by the Congress party, said the following day that she attempted to meet him on his trip to affected zones in Whitefield.
Limbavali tried to steal the petition away from her, and when Ruth demanded that he listen to her plights, he burst out and threatened her.
“MLA Limbavali has instructed the police to remove me into the prison on numerous occasions.He said do you have any respect or respect? You have encroached on the land, and now you appear in the face of the MLA.He also demanded the police to take me to the police station and forced me to remain there.” Ruth stated.
The activist stated that BBMP attempts to destroy her property constructed in 1971.Whatever the issue the MLA may have behaved in a proper manner with the woman in the public space, she stated.
Ruth claimed that she was held in the police station until 10 p.m.and was not allowed to make any calls.
She also claimed that MLA Limbavali tried to grab her hand, and then strike her.
In his defense, Limbavali has stated that he only requested the woman to remove the area of encroachment.
Dinesh Gundu Rao, senior leader and Congress MLA, demanded that State Women’s Commission should take note of the incident.
“The MLA shouldn’t have addressed a woman in this manner.This is unprofessional behavior.
MLA used singulars against her and has threatened that he will ensure she is in prison.Who is he to discuss all this? The entire BJP leaders are showing arrogance behavior,” he said.
Priyank Kharge Congress MLA as well as KPCC media director, was inquired about the BJP leaders who confronted him on his remarks of women being pressured to sleep with netas to be eligible for government jobs.
“Is MLA Limbavali a rowdy? He doesn’t have the patience to take petitions or listen to complaints,” he said.
In the meantime, Revenue Department official Parthasarathy has filed a complaint with the Revenue Department against Ruth accusing her of obstructing their work by her involvement with Whitefield police station.
