In an alleged case of extortion, the top court heard Singh’s request for protection orders.Singh was asked by the top court to reveal his location and has been scheduled for a further hearing Monday.

An extortion case against Singh and others in Mumbai was filed by a Mumbai magistrate’s Court earlier this week.

Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch had requested the proclamation.

They claimed that he was not traceable even though a warrant for non-bailable arrest was issued against him.

Justice Kaul observed that Singh’s absence was not good and this led to a lack of trust in the judiciary system.

Deshmukh was denied permission by the top court to ask for direction from the CBI to adduce records of the preliminary inquiry conducted against him by the CBI and ED, and to create a SIT in order to investigate alleged corruption or money laundering.
