He states: “I am never satisfied with my work, and frequently people tell me that it was excellent, but I feel I could have been better.I am my biggest critic”

The Dharma Productions boss is back on the dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10′ following an absence of five years as a judge with Madhuri Dixit and Nora Fatehi.

The show’s launch event, he shares with IANS about what the new season will have in the store for viewers.

He states: “It was the reality show I hosted in 2012.I was the judge for five years. It is now coming after five years, and the producers approached me to say there was a need to revive the show. That’s why Madhuri and I came together and this time, there is a fresh twist to the show because Nora is on the show and it’s very thrilling. The day I first saw Madhuri on the set it was like the reunion.”

Karan also discussed what new things viewers are likely to experience in the series in the upcoming season.

“The kind of talents are present this season, but not as good in past seasons,” he said.”They are all extremely prepared and all contestants appear like professional dancers. In the past there was an ‘Jhalak’-like journey from non-dancer to dancer, but apart from Zorawar (Kalra the restaurant owner from Gurgaon) who is not a dancer,, all are dancers who have been trained since the beginning.”

He also added: “So, from new choreography and performances to quality this season has much more to provide.”

The producer-director also explained the criteria by which he evaluates talent.”For me, there are three elements that matter — the efficiency in the performance, your energy, and the way that you make others feel with your dance, and the idea of your entire performance.I consider all of these when evaluating the potential,” he concludes.

“Jhalak Dikhhla Jhaa 10” will begin on September 3rd on Colors.
