WhatsApp Bans 1.75 Mn Bad Accounts in India, Nov 2021

New Delhi, January 1, : .Meta-owned WhatsApp said Saturday that in accordance with IT Rules 2021 it had banned 1759,000 Indian accounts from November.
WhatsApp received 602 complaints from countries in the same month, and it took 36 action.

We have published the sixth month’s report in accordance to the IT Rules 2021.”This user-safety reporting contains information about the complaints received by WhatsApp and the actions taken by WhatsApp.It also includes WhatsApp’s preventive measures to fight abuse on the platform,” said a WhatsApp spokesperson in a statement.

The spokesperson said that WhatsApp had banned more than 1.75 million accounts during November, as shown in its latest Monthly Report.

The platform banned more than 2 million Indian accounts in October.

WhatsApp is used by more than 400 millions people in India.

The company stated that it has invested consistently in Artificial Intelligence over the years and in data scientists, experts and data scientists, as well in processes to ensure our users are safe.

Meta, on the other hand, stated that more than 16.2 million pieces of content were “acted” by Facebook in 13 violations categories proactively in India over November.

Instagram, a photo sharing app, took proactive action to remove over 3.2 Million pieces from 12 different categories in the same time frame.

New IT regulations, which went into effect May 2013 require that large platforms with over 5,000,000 users publish monthly compliance reports.

These reports must include details about complaints and actions taken.

WhatsApp stated that they will keep their work transparent and provide more details about the efforts of future reporters.
