He said, “These countries are using the suffering of Syrian refugees to their political ends.”

The Minister stated that Syria’s government was making “tremendous efforts,” to assist refugees in their return and invited them to do so without condition.

He said that they don’t need to be invited because it is their country.

Unicef says that the Syrian refugee crisis is the most severe displacement crisis worldwide, with over 5.6 million refugees registered, which includes 2.5 million children who live in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan.

The Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and subsequent economic downturn further aggravated the crisis.

Around 20.6 Million people need help, which includes 6.1 Million children.

A violent crackdown by the government in March 2011 on demonstrations caused the Syrian refugee crisis.
