Patna, Nov 26, : On Friday morning, the Special Vigilance Unit in Bihar raided the properties of Janak Ram, State Mines and Geology Minister Janak Ram, and his family members in several districts. He said that raids are being conducted at offices and residences in Patna and Katihar districts.
Several large-ticket transactions were discovered by SVU sleuths.
The unit registered an FIR against Janak Ram, Dhananjay and Ratna Chaterjee’s OSD Mritunjay and their brother Dhananjay.
This was under section 13(1B),13(2) and 12 of Prevention of Corruption Act 1998 and 120B of IPC.It was filed at Patna’s Vigilance Police Station.
According to the letter sent from the office Nayyar Khan, ADGP of SVU on Thursday, the Special Vigilance Court in Patna issued a search warrant against them.
The vigilance team seized several documents relating to properties in Delhi, Kolkata, and other parts West Bengal.
The sleuths also found Rs 15 lakh cash at the Araria district home of Ratna Chaterjee.
Earlier, Delhi police had taken Bablu Kumar Arya (personal secretary to Janak Ram) into custody on corruption charges.
