AP Vigilance and flying squads are continuing their raids on private hospitals in the state of Andhra Pradesh.On Wednesday and Thursday, they have raided 14 private hospitals out of which criminal cases were registered on 9 private hospitals.

In addition, criminal cases have been registered against the administrators of 5 other hospitals for smuggling Remdesivir injections into the black market.Vigilance Enforcement DG KV Rajendranath Reddy said that they have filed criminal cases for charging more than the government-mandated charges, non-treating of Arogyasree cardholders, collection of bills from Arogyasree cardholding patients, and selling Remdesivir injections at extortionate prices in the black market.

Criminal cases have been registered against various hospitals in the state such as Anjireddy Hospital in Narasaraopet, Guntur district, Aditya, Durga hospitals in Visakhapatnam, Sanjeevini hospital in Kadapa district, Andhra Hospitals in Vijayawada Bhavanipuram, Kakinada Inodaya, Care Emergency Hospital, Andhra Hospitals in Eluru, and Chiranjeevi Hospital in Jangareddygudem.Cases have been registered against the respective hospitals under Sections 188, 269, 420 of the IPC, Sections 51 (8), 51 (b), 53 of the Disaster Act, Drugs and Cosmetics Act 18 (b), EC Act 61, 71.

Rajendranath Reddy said that criminal cases have been registered against 46 hospitals across the state so far.He said a case was registered against Anjireddy Hospital in Piduguralla, Guntur district on May 5, but another criminal case was registered again on the hospital for committing irregularities.
