The Union government recently announced that all people over the age of 18 years will be vaccinated from May 1 as part of the Corona Vaccination Drive.However, state medical and health chief Anil Kumar Singhal said the program would start in AP from June.
He said they were contacting the concerned companies for the distribution of the vaccine in the state, but no agreements had been reached so far.Hence, he made it clear that it will take some more time to vaccinate people between 18 to 45 years of age.The deadline for registration for people above 18 years of age will be announced soon.
Singhal said the state government would provide the Remedesivir injections for Covid treatment to the private hospitals.
He said that they are taking measures to prevent black marketing.Recently, 11,453 Remedesivir injections were delivered to private hospitals.
He said that currently, there were 32,810 Remedesivir injections in government records.
Singhal explained that 4 lakh Remedesivir injections have been ordered by the state government of which 50,000 Remedesivir injections will arrive this week.
Singhal announced that only 50 people would be allowed to attend weddings and other events.
