New York, November 20, 2018 : .The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended booster doses for Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccinations for all US adults. The CDC released a statement Friday stating that the CDC “continues to encourage 47 million adults not yet vaccinated, to get vaccinated soon to protect themselves and their loved ones, as well as communities.”
This suggests that all adults should receive a booster within six months of finishing their first doses.The previous recommendation only recommended boosters for people 65 years and over, as well as certain individuals at risk of serious infection, Xinhua reported.
Several CDC advisors stated that they hoped simpler guidelines based on age would help to clarify who can get the additional shots.
The US Food and Drug Administration approved Friday boosters of Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna Covid-19 vaccinations for all 18-year-olds and older.
On Friday, 229.291,004 Americans had received at least one dose Covid-19 vaccine.This represents 69.1% of all US citizens.The total number of fully-vaccinated persons was 195.920,566, which accounts for 59% of US adults.According to CDC data, 33,454,832 individuals, which is 17.1 percent of fully vaccinated, received booster shots.
