Even before the official manifestos of major political parties are published, leaders from these parties are dumping sops upon voters.
This trend started with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which announced 300 units of electricity for every vote it gets.

According to the party, all arrears in power would be forgiven and farmers would receive free electricity.

They also pledged an employment guarantee as well as a higher education budget.

While other political parties dismissed the idea as impossible, Vaibhav Mahashwari, spokesperson for AAP, stated that they had achieved it in Delhi and others are not bothered by the matter. Our greatest strength is the Delhi model for governance.

In October’s manifesto, the Rashtriya Lok Dal promised 1,000,000 jobs for youth, with 50% representation of women in the police force to combat the growing number of women-related crimes.

The manifesto states that “We also have resolved to fill all vacant positions in the police, education, and health department within six months.”

If the RLD is elected to power, it has promised to increase PM-Kisan Nidhi amounts from Rs 66,000 to Rs 12,000, and Rs 15,000 to small farmers.Further, the party promises to raise MSP for major crops and provide MSP for farmers.

On the contrary, Congress is focusing on women power.Apart from promising 40% reservation of seats for women in Assembly, the party has released a women’s manifesto.

It promises phones and an electric scooter for girls as well as increased pensions for widows, elderly women and increase in honourarium for ASHA workers.Women will also be able to travel free on state buses.

Three gas cylinders are also free for women by the Congress in one year.

Shivpal Singh Yadav of the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia, (PSPL) has pledged a job to one child and one boy in a family.

For every graduate who is unemployed, he promised to pay Rs 5 lakh.

Harish Chandra Srivastava (BJP spokesperson) said that the BJP’s manifesto is based upon people’s aspirations.

He also stated that the BJP will keep the promises it makes — just like the 2017 manifesto.Promises that can’t be kept are not our priority.

Party leaders who make outrageous promises are aware that they will not be able to keep their word and that it is not possible to bring them to power.

Sunil Singh Sajan of the Samajwadi Party said that people believe in them because they have delivered everything we pledged in our manifesto for 2012.

The promises made by the BJP have not been kept, whether they were to double farmers’ incomes or create jobs. When it is released, our manifesto will strengthen the faith of Samajwadi Party.
