Lucknow 10 Aug : The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have successfully thwarted an alleged terrorist plot to be targeted at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) employees following the detention of an suspected ISIS agent in Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh district.
The ATS officials confirmed that a firearm illegally used and raw materials, believed to make a bomb were seized from the Sabahudeen Azmi, the terror suspect.

The accused was arrested in accordance with IPC section 121-A (waging war against the country) and (collecting arms with the intention of war), (collecting arms with the intention of waging an offensive against the nation) and 12 (concealing the existence of an intention to engage in war against the nation) along with the sections 13 and 18 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and the Arms Act, 3/25, for the possession of weapons that are illegal, stated Naveen Arora Additional Director General (ADG), Uttar Pradesh ATS.

The ATS officials stated they knew that Sabahudeen Azmi was in touch with two ISIS recruiters -Abu Bakar Al-Shami and Abu Umar.Abu Umar and Abu Bakar Al-Shami -via the phone and instant messaging applications.

They claimed that the accused had been spreading ISIS ideology via social media platforms.

They also established the telegram channel “Al-Saqr media to influence Muslim youngsters and draw them in for his terror activities.

The accused also made an untrue e-mail ID as well as a Facebook account with RSS as the RSS name to be able to target RSS volunteers.

The ADG said that the suspect was tracked down and detained as he was attempting to develop an intelligence input via the person in Amilo village of Azamgarh to propagate ISIS ideology.

He stated that Sabahudeen Azmi was arrested and taken to the ATS headquarters in Lucknow to be interrogated on Tuesday evening.

In the course of interrogation he admitted that he first got in contact with Bilal Bilal via Facebook and provided him with the contact details of Musa A.K.Kanab Kashmiri who is one of the ISIS member.

The ADG said that the accused had subsequently come in contact with two ISIS recruiters -ISIS recruiters Abu Bakar Al-Shami (currently in Syria) and Abu Umar (based in Africa’s Islamic country Mauritania).

Arora claimed that the accused was brainwashed by ISIS recruiters who, in turn used him to train other young people to be a part of their battle to end “injustice against Muslims in Kashmir as well as other areas of the nation”.

The ADG said that the goal of those accused was to establish an ISIS-like group and to establish Islamic rule in India.

Arora claimed Abu Bakar Al-Shami had given to the suspect the concept of creating an ISIS-like organization in India as well as taught him how how to make IEDs and bombs by watching online videos.
