Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has assured full support for the expansion and development of Shamshabad International Airport as Telangana is emerging as an economic hub in the country.
Also, the Union Minister clarified that necessary steps would be taken to set up six more airports as requested by the state government.
In a subsequent meeting, the Chief Minister of Telangana KCR said that Telangana is developing as an economic growth centre, and Hyderabad is emerging as an international city.
In this context, CM KCR appealed to the Union Minister to further improve the direct flight facilities from the Hyderabad International Airport to various countries.
As the city of Hyderabad and the state of Telangana continue to expand in various sectors such as business, IT, health hub etc, a large number of travellers are coming from various parts of the country as well as from various international cities.
In this context, KCR brought to the notice of Union Minister Scindia that appropriate steps should be taken to increase direct flight connectivity from Hyderabad to South East Asia, Europe and the US.
