On Sunday, Narendra Tomar, the Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, clarified that there is no plan or proposal to repeal farm reform laws.
To honor the farmer’s demand, the Honourable Prime Minister declared that the farm laws would be repealed.

Tomar stated that there is not a proposal to or plan for bringing back farm laws.

Tomar made the comment at Nagpur Friday about how farm laws will be brought back.”We had brought in farm laws but some people weren’t happy. We took a step back, and we will go forward (on farm law).” Opposition had criticised farmers as “the backbone of India.” Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader, tweeted Saturday that “The Agriculture Minister insulted (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) Modi’s apology.”

Tomar stated that Congress had been trying to deceive people in order to conceal their failures. These attempts should not be trusted by farmers.

Tomar stated that although the Swaminathan Committee Report was presented in 2006, the Congress then government did not implement the recommendations. He said: “Under Prime Minister Modi, we have implemented all the recommendations from the Swaminathan Committee.”

He also recalled the seven-year-old steps that the Modi government took to reform the farm sector. The payment of Rs.6,000 has given farmers the opportunity to be empowered. For farmers who have suffered losses from natural disasters, the Pradhan Mantrikrishi Bima Yajana is a blessing.

Innovations in agriculture have been made possible by the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, which is worth Rs 1 lakh crore. Also, 10,000 farmers producers companies (FPOs), are available.
