Unicef delivered more than 50 million doses to Bangladesh as part of the COVAX facility.

This is the WHO initiative that aims at equitable distribution and access for Covid-19 vaccines worldwide.

It also stated that the government of Bangladesh received large amounts of vaccines via bilateral agreements, in addition to Unicef’s vaccines.

According to the UN agency, the new delivery of vaccines was a positive step in Bangladesh’s effort to reach its goal of vaccination of 80 percent of the population by June 2022.

According to the agency, 28.44% of Bangladesh’s population has been fully immunized so far.

“Vaccine equity is the best way to end this pandemic. We must also increase global vaccination rates.Sheldon Yett, a representative of Univef in Bangladesh said that it is crucial to get vaccines into the hands of recipients as soon as possible.

Unicef organizes the international transport of Covid-19 vaccines, supplies, and other items for COVAX Facility, since February 2021.This is the most complicated logistical operation ever undertaken in immunisation history, according to Unicef.

The first step in the fight is getting the vaccines to Bangladesh. It is just as crucial to safely deliver them to communities in need.

We salute the government and partners who help us do this,” Yett stated.
