UN condemns the deadly attack in Afghanistan

United Nations, Aug 19 : The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has condemned a massacre that killed a person at the mosque in Kabul, the capital city.Kabul.
“We condemn the attack that occurred yesterday in the Kabul mosque which is the latest in an alarming series of attacks that have killed and injured more than 250 people in recent weeks, which is the most in the month of civilian casualties in the past year.” UNAMA said in an announcement on Twitter on Thursday.

A massive explosion destroyed the mosque’s crowded prayers on Wednesday night, leaving 33 people injured and killing another 21 including the mosque’s imam Amir Muhammad Kabuli.

There isn’t any word yet about who was responsible for the attack in Kabul and the blast site was being closed off Xinhua news agency said.
