Finally, the Telangana RTC has set up an ICU at the hospital in Tarnaka, where RTC families are being treated.Three decades after the hospital was built, now, the ICU has been set up.Also, another important department, the dialysis unit was set up in the hospital.With this, the services for RTC staff who have to undergo dialysis and those who come for emergency treatment would be treated here.
Recently, they were referred to other private hospitals.With those referral bills reaching Rs 35 crore a year, it has become a stumbling block for the RTC.Newly-appointed TSRTC MD Sajjanar started the process of overhauling the hospital within a month.Sajjanar decided to develop the hospital with the help of donors under Corporate Social Responsibility and established ICU along with a dialysis centre.
The ICU was set up at Rs 2 crore.It is equipped with the necessary ventilators, oxygen cylinders, beds and other machinery.
Almost all the related works have been completed.TSRTC decided to launch these services on the 27th of this month.
RTC regular employees, retired employees have the option to get the necessary medications, including medical service from this hospital.But there is a shortage of some medicines due to funding problems, says sources.
