The Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar recently approved the appointment of Anil Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Traffic Police, as Additional Director General (ADG) of State Intelligence.T Prabhakar Rao, the Additional Director General of State Intelligence, has been replaced by Anil Kumar of the 1996 IPS batch with approval from the Governor of Telangana.
T Prabhakar Rao, who has been the Telangana intelligence chief for some time, has been handed over the SIB chief position.However, the appointment of senior IPS officer Anil Kumar to replace T Prabhakar Rao as intelligence chief has sparked controversy in the Telangana State Police department.
On the other hand, recently, the Telangana Chief Minister KCR has issued orders setting up a BC Commission in Telangana.In the wake of the Huzurabad by-election, the TRS government has issued orders appointing TRS Huzurabad constituency leader Vakulabharan Krishna Mohan Rao as BC commission chairman.
The Telangana government has also announced the appointment of Ch Upender, Shubhaprad Patel and Kishore Gowda as members of the BC Commission.The BC Commission provides government facilities to its members as well as members with the status of Public Service Commission.
