While Bollywood filmmakers are heavily interested in remaking South movies, the South industry is showing interest in few Bollywood projects as well.Power star Pawan Kalyan is currently acting in the remake of the Bollywood hit movie ‘Pink’ which had Amitabh Bachchan and Taapse playing the led roles.
Now as per the latest update, another Amitabh Bachchan’s film is going to be remade in the South. Starring Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles, ‘Piku’ received critical acclaim and did pretty well at the box office too.Now the latest news is that ‘Piku’ is set to be remade in Telugu and Tamil and reports suggest that senior heroine Trisha Krishnan will be reprising Deepika Padukone’s role in this remake.
It is also being said that a big production house has acquired the remake rights of ‘Piku’ and is planning to bring Trisha on the board to play the female lead role.After Balayya’s ‘Lion’ and a lady-oriented flick titled ‘Nayaki’, Trisha is not seen in any of the Tollywood films.But she had a couple of successes recently with ’96’ and ‘Petta’ in Kollywood.
News is also that Trisha gave her nod for the film which will be shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages.A senior actor from Tollywood is under consideration to play Amitabh Bachchan’s role in this remake and things will be finalized soon.
