“It is really satisfying and feel incredibly grateful to be able to represent my country.I tried to keep things simple. It is as Rahul Dravid sir said, we are processed-based teams, so I stay with my routine.

I don’t think about other things in the bowling. The idea is to be flexible.

We must be able to meet whatever the need of the wicket as well as the team are,” said Arshdeep after the game.

Arshdeep also praised the clarity in his ideas and the support of the Indian team management for his superb bowling performance and also for making the dressing room atmosphere pleasant.

“We follow coaches and captains instruct us.They are to be commended for the clarity they’ve given me.I’m not sure what my biggest advantage is, but keeping it simple and focused on the process helps me.”

“The way that the captain supports the younger players and the atmosphere of the room dressing rooms is pleasant.Seniors and youngsters are feeling the same.As a youngster, it is easier to get in and duplicate what you have done with your IPL and state teams. My coach and rival is my dad.he is extremely economical and bowls well.”

Left-arm spin All-Rounder Axar Patel, who took home the Player of the Match award in the fifth T20I for his figures of 3-15, said that bowling stump-to-stump lines helped him in getting the scalps of West Indies top three batters.

“My idea was to vary my pace.I knew that wickets were slow.I also tried to bowl from stump-to-stump.

The most important issue is that I have to keep my strength up because in T20s , batters will try to strike you.So , focus on bowling well and using your strength as well as your speed.”

Axar further commented that the pitches in the last two T20Is were very similar to ODI series pitches in Trinidad.”The wickets were like the ones I used to play in the Caribbean earlier. The wickets for one-dayers were comparable and as I played the final two T20Is, it was helpful.”

“I am an all-rounder.It regardless of whether I’m bowling or batting. If I can bat well I’ll be a all-rounder in the field. If I bowl well you can call me an all-rounder bowler.”
